When a small business has been sub-contracting for a large business for a few years and now discovers that their current invoice has beyond past its final completion date and remains outstanding, they could well be very worried if they have been losing business during the current financial downturn. They would clearly make contact with the large business to learn what is happening to their invoice payment and the response could well set their next action.
